Mission Mexico
The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) builds and maintains diplomatic facilities around the world for the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. OBO is building four new consulates in Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Merida, and Nogales Mexico and a new embassy in Mexico City. This is a physical investment in the U.S. – Mexico relationship.
Bilateral Relationship

The new U.S. consulates and embassy in Mexico commit to environmental stewardship and cultural sensitivity implementing sustainability methods and climate resilience through rigorous standards, native landscaping, water conservation, and energy-efficient materials.
